SBA Program Helps Finance New Knockerball Location in Massachusetts
We’re proud to introduce Edwin Rivera, the newest owner in the Knockerball family! His new company is called Rivera’s Inflatable Games and will be based in Springfield, Mass. Edwin closed his transaction today by utilizing an SBA Micro Lender Program from Common Capital in Massachusetts. Common Capital is a CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution). More about Community Development Financial Institutions Fund
A little more about the CDFI. The Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) plays an important role in generating economic growth and opportunity in some of our nation’s most distressed communities. By offering tailored resources and innovative programs that invest federal dollars alongside private sector capital, the CDFI Fund serves mission-driven financial institutions that take a market-based approach to supporting economically disadvantaged communities. These mission-driven organizations are encouraged to apply for CDFI Certification and participate in CDFI Fund programs that inject new sources of capital into neighborhoods that lack access to financing. This mission is exactly what the folks at Common Capital are doing. Each business financed, each job created, and each home built represents a critical step in the transformation of a life, a family, and a community. This is real change.
Jay Kozak from Common Capital was instrumental in shepherding Edwin through the process. The Knockerball team worked with the lenders and Edwin to customize the package that best suited him in order to launch his new business. Edwin can’t wait to bring smiles and laughter to the folks in his community. It’s all about making a positive impact. With that winning attitude, we have no doubt he will be a great success and build a legacy for his family.
